Old News

Sorry about the lack of a comic, but I am going out of town, and I have no time.  Unfortunately, I do not get back until late Sunday night, so the Monday comic will be late.  I will do it when I get home from school, so look out for it Monday night.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, March 26, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

For once in my life, I really have nothing to say.  If anyone is worried that this prolonged sprite story is a sign of troubles, do not be.  My brother and I are currently building a reserve, and I would be starting the regular comic now, except that I do not like to interrupt a storyline, so I shall play this one to completion.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, March 24, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

My brother has had an interesting spring break.  He took a bus to Denver, the place where they have had horrendous blizzards, so he got stuck in Albuquerque for a few days.  At first he slept on the floor of the bus station, but he got temporarily kicked out.  He did eventually make to Denver where he hung with friends going to school there, but his snowboarding time was cut drastically short.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, March 21, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

I actually had planned to miss Monday, since I was out of town over the weekend, but Wednesday was just my poor memory(and if you do not believe that I have the memory of a 120 year old guy acid, ask Mike the Insipid, who also gets a microscopic amount of credit for last Friday's joke, as I improved infinity-fold.)  The background for today's comic is a pixilated picture of the real life site of Masada, an  actual, famous ancient fortress in Israel.  It is no longer there, so I pasted some random fortress on top of it, but I though I would mention the historical connection, since Masada was also in a desert.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, March 14, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Sorry about the pathetic excuse for action, but it is the best I can do with this comic.  I am considering switching the sprites I use, not for this storyline, because I want to be able to do more, though I would still use uncommon sprites, because I want some uniqueness.  After this sprite interlude, we are going to have some more joke comics for a few weeks, and then it is story time.  I have finally figured all the details, so it will resolve both the fight, and move the comic along in its natural direction.  I have also been considering that after that storyline the first arc of this comic would be complete, and so I might release a c.d. with commentary, sketches, and all the comics so far on it(I just looked through the FAANS disc, and I have been inspired).  I am not sure if it would be donation gift, or if I would be selling it or what, but I am interested in some response on how to distribute it and what the actual content should be on it.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, March 12, 2003 11:00 a.m. MST

Despite what this comic seems to say, I am NOT a lazy bum(but I am a dirty liar.)  Here is another part of the epic saga of ummm, two guys who really need names.  I will have to get right on that soon, perhaps I will even add them to the character page.  I am currently hunting for a book called Beware of the Mouse.  It is the second of a five book satirical series, which includes The Mouse that Roared.  It is not at any library and apparently it does not even exist, though I am hopeful to find it eventually.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, March 10, 2003 9:00 p.m. MST

This might be a little more than a week, and then it will be back to the regular comics.  Sorry about the lack of anything last week, I swear upon my sister's grave that it will never happen again! My brother got a new car, a big '77 yellow clunker, but he is having some engine problems, but those should be behind us soon.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, March 5, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Sorry guys, but Jeff still does not have a car, though he might have a real one by the end of the week.  He has also been sick this past weekend, so this has not been a good time for him.  Once we get a chance though, I will get comics from him and we will start updating again.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, February 28, 2003 4:10 p.m. MST

Sorry about the lack of a real comic, but Jeff's car died(again) and we were unable to transport the comic between us.  Also sorry about the lateness, but I had a lot of work, and by the time I got to doing the comic, my parents were already asleep.  All the old school newspapers are kept there, so I had no access until now when I have gotten home from school.  The image is not that good, for this comic came out in a different year from the others, and the editors felt they had the right to horrendously stretch and shrink the image, ruining it.  Unfortunately, we no longer have the original, so we were stuck with that version.  I think that is one of the last school comics we have, so soon we will have to do some other lame idea for filler days.  Do not forget the merchandising offers, because this a chance for you to get merchandise specialized for your needs.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, February 26, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

I do not know why, but most boxers always seem to have some strange design like the one shown here.  It is as if boxer designers realized that boxers are rarely seen(though due to sagging, that is changing), so they try what ever half baked design they want.  No one will ever make a big deal out of boxer designs, it would make them look stupid and spoiled.  While there are no official designs on the support page, Jeff has his own t-shirt press, and could very easily make a t-shirt of someone's choice of design and color.  If you wish to buy a t-shirt of any comic or any original Empty Space design, then e-mail me and we will work out an arrangement.  If you want coffee mugs, mouse pads, or other items, than e-mail me and I will set up a deal with some sort of online company, though I will not bother if it seems like no one is interested, which it does seem like right now.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, February 24, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Jeff told me some fancy art term for the view point rotating back to the origin, but I forgot so now we have lost that chance for an art fact of the day.  I have a friend who writes really funny songs, and he has recently put up a page on mp3.com.  Despite the name, he is the only member, and his name is Dan.  The first song he has up there, Super Funk Train, was just a test run and is just strange.  the second one, Teenybopper Politick, is an actually song and has some humorous lines in it.  I am trying to get him to put his best song, Lactaid Milk, on there, but he has been too lazy to do so.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, February 21, 2003 9:00 p.m. MST

Sorry about the late comic, but I was having problems.  I saw Daredevil, and give it a ranking of sweet and stump.  This marks the end of the Gobi's comic storyline, though we will see more done with his sprite comic in the future, actually pretty soon.  We are going to have some one shots now, and then we will probably get back to Julie and Taurus.  We are finally getting into our first groove in a few months, and the comic is really chugging along now.  Actually doing the comic both for Jeff, with drawing, and me, with coloring, text, and layout, no longer takes an abhorrent amount of time.  Hopefully we can keep this up.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, February 19, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

I had a great weekend in Salt Lake City.  I learned to snowboard, but unfortunately I did it the dumb way.  I took lessons from an asshole who had us climbing up then riding down a small hill for an hour and a half.  By the time we finally moved to the slopes, everyone in my group had dead legs and could barely stand up.  The instructor then wondered why we could not keep our legs straight and steady, fucking moron.  During this time, a friend of mine decided to avoid lessons and learn on her own.  She was on real slopes by the end of the day and I was still on the bunny slope.  Our time also got cut short by a lightning and heavy snow storm, but overall it was fun.  Especially since being a local Arizonan, this was the first time I had actually been in a place while it was snowing.  Wooh-hooh for me!  Later.

     Aaron Friday, February 14, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

If you find Gobi's plan evil, then you will finds mine to be truly despicable.  While Gobi has no reason to have these comics guest star, I do.  I have found a way to randomly guest star a high volume of comics without looking like I am doing it purely for hits.  Magnificent!  I am going to Utah this weekend, and will not get back until late Monday night.  Consequently, I will not be able to update for real until Monday, but I will put up a filler in the form of "Sisyphus in High School," so hopefully that will be entertaining.  Also, Jeff's email address has changed, so do not bother with the old one(or any as the case seems to be).  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, February 12, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

And we are back to the real comic, for now!  We are finally going to finish up this story, so in the future, the sprite comics are going to be random, aka whenever I feel like it.  I also have most of my problems figured out with my programs and computer, so I cannot see any delays, except for periodic Keenspace meltdowns.  I am going to have a new essay up soon.  It is a tongue and cheek first person essay on my attempts to use my seven fingers to gain good scholarships and college admittance.  I will report when I actually have it up.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, February 10, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

I could of sworn that I had updated the third sprite comic last week, but apparently I did not, so here it is for today.  I have found a hilarious show on MTV called Clone High.  It is a parody of shows like Seven Heaven or Dawson's Creek, but all the students are clones of famous people throughout history, and the principle is a mad scientist who occasionally tries to kill the clones, and his assistant is a robot.  The main characters are Abraham Lincoln, the geeky nerd who has a crush on the beautiful and popular woman named Cleopatra, but she is very on and off dating the athletic. dumb womanizing John Kennedy.  Abe's best friend is a hyperactive ADD sex obsessed Gandhi, and his other friend is a dark, Gothic, cynical girl named Joan de Arc, who is secretly in love with Abe.  The funniest part is they reference trying to live up to the people they are clones of, like Joan in the most recent episode was ecstatic, because she thought god was finally talking to her.  It is hilarious and is on Mondays on MTV at either 11:30 or 10:30.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, February 5, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Sorry about the lack of a real comic, but my computer is having matrix problems.  It is claiming that there is no scanner, and then rising a bunch of stories to save the world.  Soon though, I will teach it a lesson in humility, specifically today, when I have no accursed homework to do.  The evil one, Mike, apparently did not realize that the villager had created a cruise missile in yesterday's comic, and even though I consider my average reader much smarter than him, I decided to clarify it just in case.  This filler comic was Jeff's second for the paper, and it was very controversial.  A lot of teachers who Jeff did not even know existed complained that the comic was insulting them, which shows what these teachers thought of themselves.  All the characters were based off his teachers, though only two realized it.  The stupid teacher was already mad at Jeff for making fun of her in his first comic, and the boring teacher knew it was a rib at him, both Jeff and my favorite teacher, Mr. Cutting, who has a tendency to drone on.  He also has a great sense of humor, and the funniest moments at school have resulted from his hilarity.  Naturally, he found it funny and had no problem with the barb.  Last comic ended that set of sprite comics, though I will do more sprite comics whenever I feel like it down the line.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, February 3, 2003 1:00 a.m.-ish MST

Sorry if it is confusing what the warrior is doing in those last panels, I was going to show him actually attacking the barbarians, but I am still trying to figure out how to convert .flc files to still images.  All the converters I got offline do not seem to work on XP, or possibly at all.  The units images I used for the comics are from a file that has an image of every unit in the game, but it only has them in their regular non-moving position.  It is my goal to eventually find a way to convert .flc files so that I will have more poses available, but until then I am stuck with what I have.  The time has an '-ish' following it, because Keenspace is updating its servers, so I do not know when this will actually go up.  A lot of Metroid news recently- retro Studios is working on a sequel with multiplayer and they are making a movie based off the first game.  I am hoping that after Nintendo's last movie project(Mario *shudder*), that they will not have a movie made without more guarantees that it will stay closer to the base material.   The sequel news is awesome, considering how great Metroid Prime is.  I played the snes version hundreds of times, but I will not have to replay Prime as much to get my Metroid fix.  Later.

UPDATE:  This comic was meant to update last Wednesday, January 22.  Due to the problems at Keenspace, the comic has been delayed until today.  What was going to be Friday's comic will now be next update day.  Luckily, this was not one of the unfortunate thousand or so comics who lost everything on the Keenspace server, and will now have to reload everything- if they have their archives on their comics.  I feel for those unfortunate people.  This post was the one written for last Wednesday, and I have decided to just leave it and place this update so people know what is going on.  Thanks for the patience.  Now for your regularly scheduled post.

I have to admit something:  I am a dirty liar.  I have decided to extend the sprite comic for one extra day(or until Friday) for various reasons.  Hopefully you do not find it that bad.  Also, has anyone else seen the ridiculous new system coming out- Phantom.  I believe the market can handle three systems fine, but I think four is stretching it.  Also, this system is going to have 33,00 games come the end of the year when it is released.  This means two things: 1)  It is going to have tons of shitty little games for it that no one would ever buy a system for 2)  It will play games from other consoles(which is implied in the announcement), which is highly illegal.  Even if it can play PC games, what are the chances of it actually being able to play all PC games easily without bugs or viruses.  I think it is going to crash and burn like a drunken jaguar.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, January 20, 2003 6:00 p.m. MST

Sorry about the late comic, but with MLK Day and all, I did not have an earlier chance to work on it.  There is only going to be one more sprite comic, so if you do not like, then do not get concerned.  Slapping a comic together like I did is pretty easy, especially since all the Civ3 art which I used was already saved on my computer.  I had at first thought I would be doing a sprite comic, but then Jeff decided he wanted to do a comic, and so it made sense that we would take advantage of his artistic abilities.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, January 17, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Hello all you recent comers, I hope you checked out the links to the left, especially the two essays in the about section.  Jeff has been getting better and is able to draw again, though his cheeks are still puffy from the surgery.  Due to my procrastinating of buying various games, and my discovery of some books I want to read badly, I find myself barely able to fit school work in(which is naturally a low priority).  This is the opposite of most gamers, who were playing all the games at the end of last year, but I always seem to be on a different calendar then everyone else, so I am kind of use to it.  Please e-mail me with some response or feedback or harsh criticism- anything is good.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, January 15, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

Those first three panels were drawn by me, but the scary thing is that I was trying to draw it well.  Do not worry, I promise to never draw for this site again.  My brother, Jeff, has been under considerable pain since Monday, because he got his wisdom teeth removed.  It has been a fucken bitch for him, and it scares me to think of when I must go through the horrendously painful operation.  I now know why people believe dentists are sadists.  On the positive for me though, I get my license today.  I know longer have to depend on family to get anywhere, and this weekend I learned how great that will be.  I called to get picked up from a friends, and first some weird guy sleeping in front of my friend's house told Jeff that my friend lived nowhere near there.  Then my oldest brother never bothered stopping at the house to ring the doorbell, and Jeff had to come back out to get me.  But to make matters worse, Jeff ran out of gas part way their, and we had to wait for our dad to get their with gas.  It took over three hours for me to get home from my friends, but luckily those days are behind me.  Also, today is my birthday, so I have that to look forward to.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, January 13, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

This weekend a glorious event happened- we finally got a bunch of hits.  Over five thousand to be more exact.  I want to thank David Anez from Bob and George for linking me, he has made me a very happy man.  Three cheers for David!  This balanced the Steelers getting screwed, making this weekend a a good one.  Read on new comers and give me some responses while your at it.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, January 10, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

UPDATE Jan10 2003 7:14a.m.:  Holy shit, I feel like a moron.  I just realized that the last two comics I accidentally put the date as 2002, instead o 2003.  So it has not been updating.  Do not worry, for I will put up Wednesday's comic now, and put up Friday's later in the day.

I tested out streamliner with this comic some.  Overall, I am happy with the results, though I still have a great deal of experimentation and learning to do with this program before I have its benefits maximized.  This comic was especially hard, because it and the next few comics were drawn on a shaky plane with no pencil to sketch first, so there are uneven line and curves all over the drawings.  This program is definitely cutting down on the time it takes to create a comic, for even with all the experimentation I did while working on the comic, it still took a short time.  I like the idea for this story for anyone who knows about the economics of comics, it mainly involves negatives and losses across the board.  That was a little FYI so everyone would understand the absurdity of Gobi's plan.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, January 8, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

I finally got streamliner, though not in time to use for this comic, but all future comics will be using this wonderful program for better picture quality.  I had the most frustrating time trying to get a 3v3 AoM game going.  I spent two hours with my friends trying to get people together.  The first time we got six, a stupid fucker lied about his connection, and the game was so laggy that we quit.  The next time we had six people, but some dipshit named Camel did not press ready.  We bugged him for five minutes, and by the time he did, the other two guys had left.  The third time we got six people, the game was loading when it claimed that someone did not have a valid c.d. key. Why would it not bar that person from joining the server, instead of waiting until we already have a fucken game going before canceling it.   Those were only the times we actually got the full six, there were plenty of times when we got five and everyone left for some inexplicable reason.  Another time we had three other people, but the infamous Mike had quit for the night, saying he was sick of doing nothing.  All in all it was very frustrating,  but hopefully we will actually get some games together tonight.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, January 6, 2003 1:00 a.m. MST

The comic is finally back online.  Excuse the lower quality artwork, it was drawn on a turbulent airplane with no pencils, so mistakes could not be erased.  This ends the battle, the impact of Julie's true motive being reveled will be explored later, for now we will move on to sillier strips.  Also, I have learned of some Adobe programs that will convert the scanned images into editable pictures much better.  This means no more jaggies and the image on the computer will look as godd as the image on the paper.  Later.

     Aaron Saturday, January 4, 2003 1:30 a.m. MST

Sorry about the break turning into a month long hiatus, but I was in Florida for the past two weeks, so I could not update the comic.  I was going to update with a new post, but every time I tried, Keenspace was down.  This is very frustrating for I had planned to inform all that we are coming back Monday, January 6.  I am glad to say that our fanbase has dropped 0%.  We have the next two weeks of comics done, and Jeff does not start up again until the end of January, so I think we are set for a least a few months.  See you back with the comic this Monday.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, December 11 10:00 p.m. MST

'Tis the season for hair pulling.  There is nothing quite as unifying as every student united in one feeling: dread.  Do not worry though, for we will spread the message that all students feel during this time.  I have some cool news too.  Jeff bought stuff to make his own t-shirts, so we are going to soon start selling shirts from this site.  Their will be both Empty Space related shirts and random t-shirts.  The best parties since they are self made, their are no annoying companies to screw people over.  Payments will be handled through either regular mail or Paypal, so I'll tell you guys when that gets put up on the support page.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, December 6 11:30 p.m. MST

NOTE:  Shit, I wrote out this post but I forgot to post it.  Oh well, I have a strange feeling that no one will care, though I cannot imagine why.

Hey guys, I hope your finals are as fun as Jeff's.  In case you are wondering, they are the very unfortunate reason that there are comics neither today nor Monday.  It is a great shame that such a fun activity, like making comics, must be superceded by such miserable, horrendous tests.  Hopefully you understand that Jeff has no time to draw comics while studying for numerous tests.  Do not worry though, because I do not have to worry about finals, due to three reasons.  First reason is that my abundance of AP classes means that I do not get any finals either semester.  The only exception is Calculus BC, but that stuff is so easy that I will at the most study for half an hour.  Luckily, for one of my regular classes, English, I have a teacher who does not believe in comprehensive tests(and I agree with him full-heartedly), so that leaves me two easy finals, keeping my schedule clear during a usually hellish time for students.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, December 3 1:00 a.m. MST

The comic is working again!  Yayyy!  In that last panel, Taurus is using a super-hyper move, or whatever fighting games call them these days.  I have a great Thanksgiving story though involving Jeff and his friend Pat, the one who drew the guest comic.  Pat stopped by the house Monday to pick up Jeff(who was working on the comic at my house) when he noticed some people in masks walking up my walkway, and minivan parked on the street.  This was around 8p.m. and Pat thought they were hoodlums planning to harm my house with their vile vandalism(boo).  Pat scared them off, but Jeff and he were worried that they would come back, so they drove by the house at random times to check up.  I was the look out and was suppose to check through the windows for them, but I ended up playing Age of Mythology online instead.  They stopped the guys a few more times, but the vandalists were persistent.  Finally, Jeff filed a police report so that they could leave the neighborhood.  It was at this time that Jeff told our mother, and she figured out who the people were.  It is a custom by many Christians to leave presents for each of the 12 days of Christmas at the doors of Christians in their neighborhood.  This was a Jewish version done for Hanukah by a group calling themselves the Spinning Dredeils, which we nicknamed the Hanukah Fairies.  It turned off that Jeff and Pat were scaring off the Hanukah Fairies, and threatening people giving us free food with wrenches and whatnot.  Jeff immediately canceled the police report, as the Hanukah Fairies had been vanquished.  Jeff and Pat were true heroes that night in their battle against the Hanukah Fairies. If it was not for them, we would have had the really yummy cupcakes the Hanukah Fairies left that night a few hours earlier.  It was a good thing Jeff and Pat were there to delay the Hanukah Fairies.  Later.

Aaron Hopefully Sunday, December 1 3:00 p.m. MST

Keenspace has been changing servers for the past week, and I have been unable to update anything on my site due to this.  I am hosting that they have finished, and that this will update, though I cannot be sure.  No one is probably reading this, because those stupid fuckers at Keenspace have made my site inactive for a week, and whenever a little comic goes inactive, people stop reading it.  In case you cannot tell, I am very pissed.  I have posts for the previous week, and I had one update on Wednesday(we skipped a day for Thanksgiving).  If your are still there, please e-mail me.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, November 29 1:00 a.m. MST

My prediction turned out correct, and between Thanksgiving and a bunch of friends from out of state, he has been much to busy.  Everyone deserves a break a during a holiday, and we will be right back on Monday, so everything is fine.  I had a splendid Thanksgiving, which started with seeing Harry Potter, which was pretty damn good(though the phoenix looked horrible), and a meal at a really nice house.  The nice thing about the house was that there were two t.v.'s and five computers in this one room. I am not quite sure what all that stuff is needed for, since the room could only be used by two or three people at the most, but it looked impressive.  Another cool part was that the house had all the books from two of my favorite sci-fi series- Foundation by Isaac Asimov and the 2001 trilogy(technically he had 3001, the fourth book, but I prefer to pretend that book never happened) by Arthur C. Clarke.  Hopefully you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too, and I am very happy for the four-day weekends.  Four-day weekends rock the house!  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, November 27 1:00 a.m. MST

I love campy fight dialogue, which is why I had to include some.  There is going to be a few more comics of fighting.  So if you like it, good.  If you do not, register a complaint and I will get back to you.  This week's schedule is going to be a little bit screwed up.  Jeff was thinking of drawing a special Thanksgiving comic, so we might have a special update on Thursday.  Also, all of Jeff's high school friends whom he has not seen for months are returning, so he may not find time to come down and draw Friday's regular comic.  In conclusion there may or may not be a special Thanksgiving comic, and Friday's comic may or may not be cancelled.  Also, blame Thanksgiving for the screwed up schedule.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, November 25 1:00 a.m. MST

And now we are back to your regularly scheduled story.  It is Taurus vs Julie, and come back for the rest of the week to see who will come out victorious in this epic(yeah, right) battle.  I want to take this chance to thank the inventor of the t-shirt, whoever you are, for almost all comic artists.  The t-shirt is one of the simplest designs, and yet is very popular.  It is also easily customizable, making a truly ubiquitous item.  It has doubtless saved artists around the worlds thousands of days with its simplicity.  Truly, the t-shirt was one of the greatest product ideas in the history of the world.  Later.

     Aaron Friday, November 22 2:00 a.m. MST

This is a strip done by Jeff's friend, Pat.  It is quite an interesting take on the characters, since Gobi is naked with a belly button.  Overall, it looks pretty cool, and it is pretty funny.  Though that does not really fit in with Taurus'(did I do that possessive right, the rule always confused me with -s endings) character.  I am very tired, so I shall sleep now.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, November 20 1:00 a.m. MST

I hope you all liked the new design for Julie.  Jeff and I were not happy with the old one, so we made some minor changes, especially to the hair style.  We have some even better sketches made after the comic, and I am very pleased with new look.  I thought this comic was a tad confusing, and that it is not obvious that she knocked out the guard.  I will definitely keep the strip less confusing in the future, but unfortunately this error is already made.  I noticed how many sites were thanking their fans, and I thought to do the same.  But then I realized my parents would think I am talking to invisible people again, and probably put me in an insane asylum.  I am very tired so I am getting sleepy time now.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, November 18 1:00 a.m. MST

Ahh, back to good old random, unconnected strips.  In case you did not notice the last "storyline" is now over, and this strip begins the cycle anew.  I am very happy now, because I just saw Futurama.  I love that show, and I hate Fox, because instead of canceling it outright, they are putting it into a position where another network will not even be able to pick it back up.  Bastards!  But at least their are still some new episodes left.  What a great concept for a show- an out place young dude, advance technology, strange female, robot,  other weird aliens, space ships. . . uhh, this is starting to seem eerily familiar.  Uh oh, now our big secret has been revealed.  Yes, it is true, all our entire comic is just one big Futurama rip-off.  Even our jokes are exactly the same- watch every episode of Futurama, and you will see all of "our" jokes.  But seriously, Futurama did one of the coolest things that can be done- it set up major future storylines in the first episode.  In the first episode, when Fry is about to get frozen, an eye peeps out of the trash can.  The eye is just like that of Nibbler.  Also, as Fry falls into the freezing pod, two shadows can be seen on the floor.  One is clearly Nibbler, the other has not appeared in the series yet.  Unfortunately, we will never see what story those scenes are setting up, because Fox is evil incarnate.  Bastards!  Later.

     Aaron Friday, November 15 1:00 a.m. MST

On time again(Doh!  Twice in a row).  If you look over to the navigation bar to the right, you will notice a new page has been added.  I finally got around to creating a FAQ page, though there is only one question.  Feel free to send me any other questions you have for me.  I am making good progress on the bio pages, but I still do not have the pictures.  Hopefully I can get the pictures developed this weekend, in which case I could conceivably put up the bios for us on Monday.  You may ask, why Monday instead of the Sunday update.  Go ahead, feel free to ask.  I have done this, because Sunday is a better day to create comics, which means that I have been updating the comic in the late afternoon on Sundays instead of the usual(in theory) update time f one a.m.  I have decided to update Monday instead, which is not an unusual update time.  This schedule will probably stay the same for awhile, because after doing a comic for 3.5 months, I have a good grasp of what updating schedules are good for me.  Thank you for your patience.  I also have pioneered a new way of creating comics.  Instead of making them last minute, I now work on them earlier, causing me to finish many hours before the update time.  I think this new method might just catch on, I know I certainly like it.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, November 13 1:00 a.m. MST

I am not going to mention how good it is to be on schedule, because that will just jinx me.(DOH![Wait a second.  I could just go back and delete that last part before putting it up, thus saving me from the jinx.  Yet, I am compelled to leave it all the same.])  I am finally getting into a comic making groove again.  I was able to produce this comic in a relatively short period of time, so hopefully this trend will continue.  Next update, I will put up a FAQ page.  Technically, I have had one question asked only once, but frequently is a relative term.  Compared to zero, one is pretty damn frequent.  Also, as soon as I have pictures developed, I will be putting up the bios page for Jeff and myself, so look forward to that.  I never realized how fun it is to make comics.  I do not even have a community, or really anyone, to talk to, and yet making the comic is still a grand experience.  I definitely get no financial reward, and I am yet to see any other benefit either.  It also has taught me to appreciate other cartoonists who have many delays, because they really do try their best to get the comics out, but it is a tough job and they do not want to release shoddy products.  They are just doing it for fun, and sometimes they have other commitments which they must keep.  It all comes full circle now, though I never was too disturbed by delayed comics.  Now it all makes sense, putting a close to that little mental(I use the word lightly) exercise.  Later.

     Aaron Monday, November 6 11:46 p.m. MST

I am sure you noticed that there is comic, and it is most unfortunate.  The problem was that I did not realize how much school work I had to make up, causing me to have no free time.  This is made worst by the fact that everything school related is extremely dull, while comic related activities bring about large amounts of fun.  There will be an update Wednesday and Friday, and Jeff and I have even managed to build a cushion of drawn, though not colored, comics.  On a positive note, my weekend was fantastic.  LEAD, despite being held at a horrendous camp instead of the great camp it is normally held at, was wonderful and I had oodles of fun.  It was so great as to make me forget about lack of AoM, which is a hard feat to accomplish.  I also have read reviews of Metroid Prime, and in a few weeks it shall be mine.  There are way to many games for my small amount of free time, so I will hold out for now.  The visor allows for scanning of everything, so I will probably spend over half my playing time scanning things.  I love games that allows me to explore the world like that, and I cannot wait to play.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, November 6 11:50 p.m. MST

Here is the comic.  I was unable to contact Jeff in time, so he could not get me the comic to put up for Friday.  Do not worry though, I will put one up when I get back late Sunday night.  We made some slight changes to H3RB's design which make drawing and coloring shorter, so it will be easier to use him.  Sorry about the brevity, but I am very tired.  Later.

     Aaron Wednesday, November 6 12:45 p.m. MST

Hey, I am just saying that we will have a comic up today, but not until later tonight.  The reason why the comic will be up later, is because the system Jeff and I have figured out for moving comics from his dorm to my house works only on Wednesdays.  The way we do it is our mother teaches at ASU on Wednesdays, so Jeff gives the comics to her then.  This means that I do not get Wednesdays comic until 6p.m., delaying its update.  Also the Sunday comic will either be up late Sunday, or on Monday.  I am going out of town Thursday, and I do not get back until late Sunday night.  There will be a comic up both Friday and Sunday though, so do not worry.  Also, I want to recommend you all check out the forum, because there is some interesting topics being posted on.
Also, I finally got a response from a stranger.  A woman named Sarah Williams sent me response telling me why I was not getting much traffic, and even gave me a suggestion to fix the problem.  She pointed out a product called Traffic Magnet®, which, for a low price, will get me tons of new visitors.  Truly Sarah is a great women for this miraculous advice to a hapless stranger, and I do not know how to thank her.  I believe I am in love, and hopefully I will have her hand in marriage, otherwise, I would be unable to live another day.  May good luck and fortune fall on both Sarah and that invaluable program, Traffic Magnet®.  Later.

     Aaron Sunday, November 3 10:25 p.m. MST

I am terribly sorry about the lack of comics this week, but Jeff and I have had some problems stemming from him living at ASU in Tempe and myself living in Scottsdale.  Never fear though, for we believe we have finally found a good solution.  Though, like all new things, this is trial and error, and we have no guidebook on how to run an online comic(though I try do what is done successfully by others in the biz).  In big news, I got Age of Mythology.  It is by far the greatest RTS game ever, even beating out Age of Empires 2.  I will be posting a review as soon as I write it for the paper, but I can already say that it is the deepest, most involved RTS out there.  I think it is even better then Warcraft 3, which I liked a lot.. Mythology rules the school, and that is all that needs to be said.  We will have a comic Wednesday, and we will have personal bio pages in one or two weeks.  I finally figured out what I wanted to do for them.  We have also been considering t-shirt designs, and if you have any ideas, drop us a line.  In fact, feel free to drop me a line anyways, because no one else has.  I thought I had desperate plots to get response, but my older brother Shaun topped me.  He suggested I put up in place of a comic "We quit, due to lack of response", and then put up a comic and reveal the prank the next day.  The only problem with that idea is that if we said we quit, then no one would ever see that it was just a prank, and I doubt anyone would care enough to send an e-mail, causing the whole plan to backfire. Still, the cookiness level of that plan was quite high, and I love my cookiness.  Anyways, back to my heathen ways as I smite all in my way in my own little computer world.  Later.

Aaron Wednesday, October 30 11:50p.m. MST

When I said afternoon, I had accidentally lapsed into another language- wanganese.  In wanganese, afternoon means "practically the end of the day", and that is when this update is coming up.  This means that, following the wanganese lexicon, I updated when I said I would.  That is some demented logic for you.  Actually, I just had tons of homework, so I could not finish comic in time.  I forgot to mention, but I added two new comics to my link page.  One is a punk comic which makes fun of all the annoying things punks do.  It is hilarious , especially if you have friends who are punks.  The other one most people already heard of- GPF.  It is easily one of the best storyline comics ever, and you should really check it out.  I am updating Friday.  Later

Aaron Wednesday, October 30 7:15a.m. MST

Hey people.  I have good news- we are going to update three times today, but the new comic will not be up until later in the afternoon.  So come back then.  Later.

Aaron Sunday, October 27 7:15p.m. MST

Game 7!  Game 7!  Considered by many to be the most magical 2 words in sports, though "high ratings" and "world championship" are actually higher.  But despite that, I am very excited right now.  An incredible series is coming to an end, and hopefully the game will be a great one and a fitting end.  I finally finished Eric and it is in honor of Discworld that Gobi says those last lines, because that is the kind of thing a Discworld character would say.  I found plans on how to build a miniature trebuchet, and I am going to make one for my catapult project in science.  The guy who made this trebuchet accidentally launched a tennis ball threw his ceiling, so I am excited about the destructive potential of this weapon.  I still have not gotten even a speck of response from anyone about htis comic, so here is a desparate plea:  REPLY TO THIS COMIC WITH YOUR COMMENTS OR YOUR SOUL WILL BE EATEN BY DEMONS AND WILL BE FORCED TO LISTEN TO THE DOCUMENT ENTITLED "THE DANGERS OF EATING LARGE OBJECTS WITHOUT FOOD".  BWA-HA-HA!!!!  For those who are confused by the latter half of that message, read Eric and all will be revealed.  In case you are wondering about the strange point of view in the third panel, chalk it up to an "out of body" experience(I do not see how that strange view any could be anything else).  Later.

Aaron Friday, October 25 1:00a.m. MST

Hey look, a comic which is updating on time!!  Yayy for schedules!!  Also, my friend, Mike, was bugging me that I should remind people that I am yet to receive even 1 response, so please feel free to send me an e-mail.  Do not forget that the contest is still on, and if you forgot what the contest is, well, send me an e-mail and I will tell you what the contest is(He-he-he).  Also, if you are going to send Mike a disparaging e-mail, which I highly recommend, first send me an e-mail, because it would be kind of embarrassing if the first response was sent to someone who is not even directly involved with the comic, so stop by here first.
I have finally found my dream college- Harvey Mudd.  This school is in California, which is my preferred location.  It is also a science and math college, which are my favorite subjects.  And the best part is that it is undergraduate only, so undergraduates get a chance to do a lot of research with the professors, while at a normal school graduates take most of the research positions.  The only problem is that it is expensive, but I should be able to get their NOVA scholarship which pays for half the cost, and I will get some other scholarships to make it affordable.  Hopefully I can get in, though I am still year from applying, I am getting research done now to save me from stress later.  And with that(I did not want 2 later's in a row, so I added those few words), Later.

Aaron Wednesday, October 23 11:20p.m. MST

Hello all you people out there, I have 2 important announcements.  The comic is now going to be updating on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  The reason for this is because it gives me more time during the weekdays to work on Tuesday comics, and should hopefully make it easier to get three comics up a week.  Which leads to another announcement, that three comics a week is no longer guaranteed, tough two is.  There will always be a comic on  Sundays and Fridays, and on Wednesdays when we are able to do so.  I thank you for your patience and I will see you Friday. Later.

Aaron Sunday, October 20 5:45p.m. MST

All our good pens have mysteriously disappeared(a.k.a. we lost them) forcing us to use a really shitty pen.  It has caused tons of problems, but somehow we struggled through them.  And now the comic is up.   Yayyyy!  Also I only have one Discworld book yet, and I will have read every Discworld released in America.  This is truly a momentous occasion, since I have been reading Discworld on and off for the past four years.  I also have the PSAT behind me, so I can finally move on to worthwhile activities, like playing video games and reading.  Unfortunately, school starts again this week, so I will be forced to waste a lot of time.  Later.

Aaron Friday, October 17 1:00a.m. MST

I'm looking at the previous post and I noticed that I said this comic would come up Thursday.  Oops, I meant to say Friday, do not worry though, because next week we will be back to a regular schedule.  Despite having a week off school, I have still spent most of my time studying.  Why you may ask, because I have the PSAT this Saturday.  This is a big deal, because doing well on it would allow me to become a National Merit Scholar, providing big bucks in for college.  I had a plan to study a chapter a night for a few months, and I even started on that plan following camp, but it ended it up falling flat.  So instead, I am spending all of this week studying for the test.  Wish me luck.  Later.

Aaron Monday, October 14 11:59a.m. MST

I think I finally figured out all the problems on my computer, so it should be easy sailing from here on out.  There's only going to be 2 comics this week(today and Thursday),  but everything will be fine next week.  I had a great weekend to kick off the week break.  On Saturday I went to a small concert with little bands,  they were only okay, though I thought One Star Player was definitely the best- plus they gave me a free demo c.d.  I then got my bowl on with a bunch of friends at cosmic bowling.  While their this artist named Nuno, who has no problem with you taking his artwork from his site, though I strongly recommend buying a few pieces, they are only $10 for large versions, $5 for smaller versions.  I am not only impressed with his hand drawn artwork, but he also does amazing things with Photoshop.  He has been using Photoshop for over 2 years and it most definitely shows(I have only been using it for half a year).  He learned Photoshop the same way I have, no instruction book, just tons of experimentation(which is the way I do everything).  Then Saturday afternoon I saw the latest Miyazaki flick Spirited Away.  The movie was awesome and it pleases my heart that it is doing well, which means his next movies will also come to America with the godlike dubbing that Disney provides.  After that I went to the Front Porch Blues concert featuring Robben Ford, Charlie Musselwhite, Otis Taylor, Henry Butler, and Deborah Coleman.  Damn, that is one great collection of names for a contest, and they did the exact opposite of disappoint- they kicked total ass.  They even came back for an encore show after leaving, which was great.  This week certainly looks like it is going to kick ass, and I will see you guys later.

Aaron Tuesday, October 10 11:30a.m. MST

I got the scanner working, but now I am having memory problems on my computer.  A site I was reading suggested making the OS run off a different hard drive, and since I have two hard drives this works perfectly.  I run XP off my smaller hard drive, which is overstuffed and constantly giving me cleanup messages- this is screwing up my Photoshop, because Photoshop keeps saying there is no memory to do what I want to do.  Luckily, I have the next week off school, so I am going to use that time to make every program run off of my larger hard drive and generally optimizing my computer.  The memory problem has been around for a while, though it just lengthened the Photoshop work by about an hour, now it will not work at all.  When I finish setting it up this week, my computer will be running very fast and getting comics up will be a much easier process.  So cross your fingers and pray for the best.  I will be sure to update on Sunday, and hopefully with a new comic.  Damn computer problems!  But soon you will be behind me(yeah right!).  Later.

Aaron Monday, October 07 11:40a.m. MST

Sorry about the long delay(though not long enough for anyone to complain, I guess that is good), but their have been some unavoidable troubles.  But let's have some good news before I hit you with bad news.  I have finally figured out why the lines in the comic have been so jaggy- the resolution on my scanner was set to 300dpi, but I am going to try first 2400dpi, but if that takes to long to scan then I will settle for 1200dpi.  The bad news is that my scanner is being a little bitch right now.  I think it will be no trouble getting it working, so I will update on Tuesday afternoon if I can get it to work.  If it does not work, I will keep you guys updated.  Later.

Aaron Tuesday, October 01 1:00a.m. MST

I like to start this off by saying that this comic in no way supports the insulting or eating of nature's majestic animal, otherwise known as the pig.  Also, do not even think about the implication of a pig like alien buying another pig like alien to eat(too late, I probably should not have written)- it is not cannibalism, but it is iffy.  I also want to say that I understand that cops are a required part of society, and I believe that we need police to function properly, but I also feel that they should be heavily scrutinized.  Bad cops can easily take away our freedoms and disregard the constitution, so we must keep them on a short lease.  This applies to all of government, since we can never let any aspect of the government rest, we must constantly point out flaws and attempt to improve the government.  Do not forget- the founding fathers were EXPERIMENTING with democracy, it is our responsibility to analyze the results and improve the system.  Unfortunately there will be no video today, because all the computers at school that can convert videos are not connected to the network, and since the near worthless Macs do not have disc drives, there is no way to move the file to my computer.  Luckily, Jeff has a friend who can convert the file, so we should have the video up sometime next week.  And now for a momentous occasion- Jeff's first update!!!  Yayyy!!!!  Later.

Jeff Tuesday, October 01 1:00a.m. MST

Well folks it’s time for my first post. Sorry about missing the last two comics, and in advanced for today’s comic, it’s not funny but its from the heart. I was arrested for nothing except exercising my constitutional right of free speech. I could swear that I was in Iraq, from the use of chemicals weapons on our own people (tear gas) to the pigs on horses and all dressed up nice in there best Nazi thumping boots. You should have seen these guys, wearing full riot gear, but with stomachs overflowing pants like a tsunami about to crash down on Tokyo, and I smelt donuts! After being wrongly arrested I was viscously beaten by two asshole cops, till my face was bloody and my sides were sour. Then I was thrown in a cage with out being charged for 7 hours. Then I was put in Madison jail, not a very nice place, for 13 hours. I was never read my rights and was not charged for hours, even after being put in prison. We have no rights and cops can do anything they want. But some day, soon, I think we can all enjoy some tasty and fatty ham sandwiches.

Aaron Sunday, September 29 1:00a.m. MST

I actually have a good reason for the lack of a comic, Jeff was falsely arrested for protesting against Bush's visit to Phoenix.  Jeff was holding a sign when the police knocked him to the ground and arrested him for some bullshit charge which basically means protesting, which is an UNALIENABLE right.  The ACLU wants us to sue the government, and I agree completely.  Jeff is going to post about it this Tuesday, so he will give more details.  We also have video of the police with Jeff on the ground.  I'm going to convert it to a computer file at school on Monday, and put it up Tuesday.  We will also have a new comic, and we are sorry about the lack of a new comic the previous two times, but we did not expect the government to infringe on our rights, though it is not that surprising.
This filler comic was the first Sisyphus appearance ever.  It was in the April 2000 edition of the Chaparral Ashes newspaper.  The story was based on a fight Jeff had with his English teacher, who will remain nameless.  The reason for the name was that Jeff was implying that going through high school was like the punishment Sisyphus received from the gods.  The design of the chin was slightly different then, but the basic character was already there.  Thx for the understanding and see ya later.

Aaron Thursday, September 26 1:00a.m. MST

Sorry about the filler, but we'll be back on schedule this Sunday.  This is part of what I call the Icharus collection.  What's strange about these comics is that they were meant to be like newspaper comics, but they were done like cartoons.  Icharus is on a transparent cell, while the rest is on paper.  It was all hand colored by Jeff many years ago, when he first made it.  These are the only two Icharus that I have been able to find, so for the next fillers, I'll be using the original Sisyphus in High School comics that appeared in the school newspaper.  Exciting!  Later.

Aaron Tuesday, September 24 1:00a.m. MST

The Mario Sunshine review will be up as soon as I remember to bring it home from the computers at school, which will hopefully be very soon.  I was looking at what Penny Arcade had to say about Starfox, and it reminded it me of what I hate most about both Rare and recent platformers: too much useless shit to collect.  Donkey Kong for the SNES did not have too many items too collect, but I felt Banjo-Kazooie had a few too many(though it was not very bad at all).  I never finished it, because I got bored trying to collect all the items, and I believe all the items were needed for the true ending, though I do not remember for sure.  Donkey Kong 64 was horrendous, that game made me want to throw up by the third level.  Most recent platformers have had way too many times that needed to be collected.  The reason why I do not like Rare as much as other people is because I hate their platformers.  Their boring and filled with too many unnecessary items to collect.  Unfortunately, it seems like Starfox might fall into the same trap, if so, I will probably rent it and play it for a few hours(hopefully the items will not effect the game at all, making it ignorable).  This does not mean I hate Rare, because I love all their other games, but they do have an annoying tendency to force players to collect nine kajillion items for five hundred characters in each level.  Companies seem to think that collecting items is fun, but the exact opposite is true.  This is why Mario Sunshine is so great, it depends on fun challenges and great gameplay, not stupid item collecting.  Mario has people gathering coins, which are used to gain shines, and shines.  That is it, and it is all the better for it.  Later.

Aaron Sunday, September 22 2:10p.m. MST

Sorry about the delayed comic, I had some minor problems involving blood.  This has been a pretty good weekend, because the debate season got off to a start.  While at the debate tournament yesterday, I got to thinking about the lack of response for my comic- but through the eyes of an LD debater.  In LD debate, silence is acquiescence, so under LD rules, which this website naturally follows, the lack of response means everyone approves of my comic.  It is so nice to be loved. Later.

Aaron Thursday, September 19 1:00a.m. MST

I'm very tired so this will be a short post.  I'll put up the review Sunday.  Later

Aaron Tuesday, September 17 2:35a.m. MST

I finally got Mario Sunshine over the weekend and all I have to say is this: sw33t-ness.  The game is easily one of he greatest platformers ever, and is better then Mario 64.  What is great about the game is how you can go around and do different  missions in different worlds and just screw around in the game.  One cool part is that one of the nozzles for the water pack is a turbo-boost that makes Mario go super fast.  There is a part which feels very Sonic like where Mario is moving at high speeds while jumping across platforms and even going through the classic loop.  This game is going to take me awhile to beat for the same reason it took me forever to beat GTA3- I'm going to be doing a mission and end up just doing tons of random shit.  The game is very non-linear, which is great.   I am writing a review for the school newspaper, so I will put that up on Thursday.  My friend got Mafia for the computer and that game is awesome.  It is a lot like GTA3, except there is not as many ways to fuck around in it.  But one big improvement is that the shooting system is great and the action scenes are bundles of fun.
I caught the first two episodes of the Kirby animated show over the weekend.  Kirby has always been one of my favorite characters since the NES days.  Whenever people discuss great platformers, they always manage to leave out the Kirby series, despite the fact they are among the most unique, since you can fly forever, and best platformers on the market.  The show is pretty cool despite it being a kid's show, because it has Dee-Dee as evil, but being manipulated by shadow, just like in many of the games.  It also has meta-knight, one of the coolest Kirby characters, who has so far only appeared in the SNES Kirby.  Meta-knight works for Dee-Dee, but for some strange, unknown reason, he helps Kirby.  I like the twist since he is the badass of the Kirby show, and he is awesome.  Later

Aaron Sunday, September 15 2:35a.m. MST

I posted a poll and new topic in the forum.  Here it is:

I was wondering how much people take art into consideration for their     comic needs. It seems that art doesn't matter, as many comics are popular but have bad art(I won't mention any because I do not wish to offend.) This is also a trend in print comics, as Dilbert is one of the most popular comics, but it has horrendous art. Here is something to put it into perspective- how many comics do you read that have bad art but are good, and how many comics do you read that are but have outstanding art?

As you can read, I do not believe that art is even close to as important as writing.  Dilbert is, after all, quite possibly my favorite comic.  Check it out here.
Now I will end this post with a random thought: Megaman games shouldn't tell you the name of bosses before you fight them.  You should kick ass first, take names later.  Later.

Aaron Thursday, September 12 1:00a.m. MST

There is not much to about the comic, so I will go straight into the obligatory Mike(my infamous friend) reference.  Today's Mike reference relates to my favorite game of all time, Civilization III.  I was thinking about all the great games I am going to have to play during the end of 2002, and I realized how much time Civ3 is probably going to take up.  I have played Civ3 for many, many years now, but it had always been a solo shot.  I would play with Jeff or Mike, where one person advises and the other plays, but that is not the same as multiplayer.  The Play The World expansion is including a few multiplayer modes that look intriguing.  One is a turnless version, where there is a certain amount of time allotted for each round.  I am unsure about this, because on one hand timed rounds seems like it would be really annoying, but on the other hand, Sid Myer and team have a great track record, and the idea has potential.  The mode I am looking forward to most is basically the regular mode, except city planning can be done during others turns.  This allows plenty of time for play, but significantly lowers the amount of time per turn.  This could be abused by players who refuse are losing and wish to cheap, but I doubt I will ever play with strangers, because Civ3 games would take days, and I would have to arrange times around my ever changing schedule to set up play times.  Instead, I will probably end up playing with Mike, and maybe a few other friends, along with computers.  This has great appeal for me, because I have never actually played WITH others in a game, and frankly, the only people I would want to play Civ3 with is friends.  That wraps up this post, so, later.

Aaron Tuesday, September 10 1:00a.m. MST

The story behind this is that IGN really did hold a contest last week.  I normally ignore contests, but since Age of Mythology looks so kick- ass, I couldn't resist.  I noticed that it was a song recognition, so I almost turned away without second though, since I am horrible at recognizing songs and voices(often I it takes me a minute to figure out which friend called me- even for Mike, the guy I mentioned in the previous post.  SCORE.  I just talked about him again.)  But I read the rules, and I noticed that they took the first correct answer.  The comic immediately came from the thought of someone constantly clicking reload so that they can get it first.
This reminds me that I cannot wait for AoM.  The reason I'm so excited is because its being made by Ensemble studios, the creators of the greatest RTS ever- Age of Empires 2.  This makes me think why I never played it online.  It's not because I got bored of the game, because I played random single player games against hard computer tons.  No, the real reason is because none of my friends played it.  Only recently did Mike(twice in one post, this is really going to pull his chain in a harsh manner) start playing, and he's the only person I know who plays it.  I don't like playing games online unless I'm playing with friends, consequently I rarely ventured online with AoE2.  But I'm going to get my friends to play AoM, even if I have to buy it for them, because that game looks super-coo.  Later.

Aaron Sunday, September 8 1:00a.m. MST

Nobody has tried to win the contest yet, but I think I have figured why no one has responded.  People only respond when they are angered or feel threatened, so therefore I need to stir up some controversy, and the hate mail will start flowing in.  I figure it is better then nothing, so here I go.  I hate all video games, every single one.  They are all stupid, boring, and childish.  All gamers are losers by default because they waste time with loser games.  I also hate web comics.  I think it is an invalid form of art and/or expression of emotion.  All webcomics are stupid, unoriginal, and un-something else offensive, too.(He-he-he.  Just try to resist flooding my e-mail now.)
One last note.  Remember that friend I mentioned about playing WC3 with a few posts back. Well he sent me feedback(don't worry, since I already know him he does not count for the contest) telling me to stop talking about him in the comic.  I only mention this because I feel that I should talk about him some more.  Don't forget to send in a response for the comic, because the prize is still up for grabs.  Later.

First off, I mentioned on Tuesday that we are holding a contest, but I don't think everyone reads the posts, so I'll repeat myself.  The rules of the contest are simple: the first stranger, meaning someone Jeff and I don't already know, to give us ANY response whatsoever, whether on the message board or through e-mail, gets an original piece of artwork signed by Jeff and myself.  We will personally send to you the original print and an e-mail with a colored version.  Not only that, but you gain the majestic distinction of being THE OFFICIAL #1 FAN!!  So PLZ send in some response.  Also, if you have access to a Mac that has a recent version of Netscape or Explorer, tell me if you can see the comic.  The Macs at my school can't see PNG files, but they are old iMacs with old Internet Explorers on them, so I think that is why they can't see them.
I have a new philosophy.  Life's like a game of Las Vegas style computer solitaire.  Sometimes you get all the aces up front and know you are going to win, while others time the first three cards in the deck are two's, and you know for a fact you are going to lose a lot of money.  Either way, it beats alternative.  Wow, that was actually a deep(if not original, though I've never heard solitaire used before) thought that I thought up.  I feel like some sort of philosopher now.  Maybe for my next great idea I'll equate chocolate to life or entropy to the logarithm of probability(I bet no one gets that one.)  I'm done with my random thoughts for now.  Catch you on the "flip" side.

Aaron Tuesday, September 3 1:00a.m. MST

I hope everyone had a fulfilling Labor Day Weekend, because I had a great one.  I went through about three missions in Warcraft 3 and managed some Starcraft online.  Not only that I had my greatest solitaire run ever.  I play Las Vegas style solitaire, which means I start at -$52 and can only go through the deck once.  Each hand cost $52 more, though its fake since its just the solitaire that comes with all pc's.  In my first hand, I made a little money.  Then my second hand I had the extraordinary luck to actually win, which is very rare and brings in $200-ish.  Then on my next hand I had a god start, but I got bogged down waiting for one card.  The last card I got from the deck was that card.  I was able to manage to win TWICE in a row.  I rarely ever win ONCE in a week.  It easily one of the greatest runs I've ever had at playing games.
We still didn't get any response, so now we're bringing out the big guns- that's right, baby, it's contest time.  The rules of the contest are simple: the first stranger, meaning someone Jeff and I don't already know, to give us ANY response whatsoever gets an original piece of artwork signed by Jeff and myself.  We will personally FedEx to you the original print and e-mail you a color version.  Not only that but you gain the majestic distinction of being THE OFFICIAL #1 FAN!!!  Now that gets a Booyah!  I mean who wouldn't want that distinction, along with great artwork.  so you better send your e-mail quickly.  Even if you're reading this on Wednesday, send in response, because their is a great chance that no response has been sent yet.  Everyone who sends in will have their names down as Founding Fans of the website, which will be big deal assuming this comic becomes big one day.  And even if it doesn't become big, just apply Picasso's logic that since you have nothing to lose, but much to gain, you might as well try it.  The winner and First Fans will be announced on the website as soon as their is a winner.  See yah later.

Aaron Sunday, September 1 1:00a.m. MST

Yaaaayyyyy!!  There was no strike.  This seems like a time for the Happy Joy Joy song:
Happy happy joy joy. Happy happy joy joy!(Repeat as necessary.
This comic is actually based loosely off a true event.  I was playing with my friend and we were both undead.  He killed a monster and got a Tome of Experience, which I consider the best item in the game.  While I got potion of greater healing, which is the worst item a monster can drop.  He then spent the rest of the game talking about how much more powerful his lich was then mine.  The bastard!
Now here is the section where I respond to reader comments.  The first comment is: . . .(insert crickets chirping).  Oh!  That's right, I have not gotten any responses yet.  This situation MUST be rectified immediately.  So if you would be so kind as to e-mail me any comment on any subject about any dimension , then I will be eternally in your debt.  Thx.

Aaron Thursday, August 29 1:00a.m. MST

Boy do I feel stupid.  Why do I feel stupid, and why is there not a regular comic today.  The answer for both these questions are the same.  Jeff dropped by home today and we worked on the comic.  When I got Jeff some paper needed for drawing, I forgot to get out today's comic.  Because of that, I have no comic to put up.  This was a truly boneheaded mistake, which unfortunately I do quite often, especially on math and science tests.
But don't feel to disappointed that there is no comic, because there is a special treat from Jeff's past.  This comic is probably the first comic Jeff ever drew.  If you haven't read the history of our involvement with comics in the About section yet, then do so.  This comic features the three main characters from Icharus.  the characters were drawn on a transparent cell, and the background was drawn on white paper.  Jeff did the coloring all those years ago, and I didn't change it one bit.  The only problem is part of the word Icharus was cut off because the scanner isn't tall enough.  I hoped you enjoyed this blast from the past, and will forgive me for not having the comic.
I almost had a heart attack when I saw this headline: Sam And Max Live!  Sam and Max Hits the Road is not only one of my favorite graphic novels, it is quite possibly the funniest game ever.  Even though they have no details except that one of the original directors is back, I am still extremely excited for this game.  With Full Throttle 2 and Monkey Island(I have heard rumors about it, though it might be official), they are single handily saving the Adventure category and making it one of the best genres around.

Aaron Tuesday, August 27 1:00a.m. MST

I was looking at the weblogs and I discovered that almost everyone reads the comic from 11 to 1, before the comic updates.  That means by the time people knew about the meeting in the forums, it had ended over 12hours before.  But now I have a new plan.  Tuesday and Wednesday night from at least 8:30 to 9:30 I will be on my forums.  Those will not be the only times, they will just be the times I will definitely be online.  More then likely I will be on a lot other then those times.
Since so many people are new to this site, I'll give a quick tour.  Cast has large pictures and brief descriptions of the five major characters.  About doesn't actually have any bios up yet, though there are two essays about the history of our involvement with both games and comics.  Cool Stuff just has a button to link to us, Support is a Paypal button, and Story is the prelude to the comic.
This comic may look a little like our earlier(relatively speaking) comics, with the grey background.  This is because this was the fourth comic that we did all the way back in May, planned to be around the 8th comic.  It was drawn, colored, and written back then and has been saved on my computer as #X for many months now.  There's no point to this story, I just thought it was kind of interesting how far we got off from our original plan.
I finally found a way to increase my readership by hundreds of thousands.  I've noticed a trend in web comics where whenever a major character makes an appearance in another comic, that comic gets linked to.  I first saw it when Penny-Arcade linked to a comic, because Tycho and Gabe appeared had a guess appearance.  I didn't think much of it, until I saw tons of other comics do the same thing.  I now realize that the best way to get quickly linked is to make other comics' characters guess star in them, because in order for the link to be timely, the comic must be linked to right away.  In order to get tons of links, I have thought of a way to have a lot of the big wigs appear in a single comic.  I'll make a comic about Sisyphus showing Gobi his favorite web comics.  I'll show actual pictures from each of the sites in each panel.  I could make it ten panels long, with a comic in each panel.  That would cause ten popular web comics to link to me.  Whenever a comic is linked, almost everyone clicks on the link to check it out, so if only a fraction of the people who check out my comic like it, then my readership will number in the thousands. BWAHAHAHAHAHA(choke. . .sputter. . .falls off his chair dead.)

Aaron Sunday, August 25 1:00a.m. MST

Good night my fair people.  This is the end of our first storyline, and probably our last one for a while.  We're also back to the usual gang for good.  I have some pleasant news dealing with load times.  You may have noticed that the site uploaded quicker then usual.  That's because Keenspace did something with the servers, and now they run faster.  This is great news for a comic that uses big images with many colors such as ours.
Friday was a bad luck day for me.  First, I come home from school to discover that my desk chair broke.  I went from an extremely comfortable, spinning, reclining chair, to a stagnant, hard, misshaped chair.  Luckily I got a new one yesterday afternoon, but until then I had to game in discomfort.  Then later that night my fan broke.  This is an especially great disaster in Phoenix, which is practically the hottest city in the world.  The problem with my fan was that the fan part broke off of the base.  I was able to prop it up on a chair Friday night and Saturday, allowing me to stay cool.  But then the part surrounding the fan came off, leaving the blades unprotected, and making it unusable.  Sighhh.
One last note, I've noticed a distinct increase in readership over the past week and a half.  So once again I am going to plea with you all to e-mail me any comments you have, good or bad.  Just click on my name, and a mail service will come up.  also, I'll be on my forum, which is linked to the left, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30p.m. Arizona time, so post anything you have to say then.  I already started up 2 threads, I'm just waiting for activity on them.  Hopefully I'll see you then.

Aaron Thursday, August 22 1:00a.m. MST

I'm really tired right now.  I thought I had two big projects due today, and I had almost finished the first only to learn it was due next week.  Aaakk. All that time and it doesn't even matter.  That also means that this will be a short post.  In fact, it's already over.  Now shoo, I need sleepy time.

Aaron Tuesday, August 20 1:00a.m. MST

I forgot to mention Sunday, but I'm really pissed at the MLB(Major League Baseball) baseball players.  Their average salary is about $2.4 million per year and their minimum wage is being to $300,000 a year.  Yet, they have the audacity to strike because they need to stand up against the union.  What a bunch of bullshit!  I used to never watch any sports what so ever, but then the Diamondbacks became a Phoenix baseball team, and a few years ago I became a huge baseball fan.  But the players are coming close to ruining that.  If the players go on strike, I hope MLB folds and the players won't get paid any more money.  That will teach those whiny assholes to not be so greedy.  Later.

Aaron Sunday, August 18 1:00a.m. MST

I started a new book series a few days ago called The Wheel of Time.  It's a really good fantasy series which I have put off starting for a while now due to its length.  The first book is 700 pages and the books quickly begin to average about 1000 pages each.  I don't think I'll be reading many other book series for a while.  I just got my permit and had my first driving lesson.  I'm finally on the road tot he the independence afforded by being able to drive on the road.  I'm really tired, so this post is going to be a tad short.  Later.

Aaron Thursday, August 15 1:00a.m. MST

Hey guys.  The school year doesn't seem like it's going to be as bad as I thought it was.  While I'm still going to have a lot of homework, it's going to be more writing and five problem homework assignments then the same problem fifty times over.  This will cause less hopelessness and a general improvement in my energy.  I saw on Penny Arcade their thing about the hiptop.  That is SW337N3SS, and my friend's going to get it for his birthday.  I can't wait to play around with that little gizmo.  It has so many functions to screw around with that I could probably use it for years.  Hell, I'm still learning new tricks with my Ti-83+, and I've had that for four years.  Th-th-th-th-th-that's all, folks!

Aaron Tuesday, August 13 1:00a.m. MST

Yo.  Now the focus of this storyline has been introduced.  I have some some very sad news that I must announce, so please stand(since I know you are all sitting.)  Today, at 8:15 a.m., my school year officially started.  My pointless march through the slush of high school once again continues.  All I have been hearing recently from everyone I know is how hard my schedule is going to be.  I am going to have to cry myself to sleep as adjust to my regular sleeping schedule.  While no readers will see the effect of school on the comic's quality or punctuality(with the possible exception of finals), I hope you will all be able to feel pity for those who still wallow in school.  Thank you.

Aaron Sunday, August 11 1:00a.m. MST

Hi again.  I've added links to comic lists.  Please vote for me whenever you can, because it will allow more people to see this comic.  The Gamer's Choice hasn't updated yet, so don't bother clicking on that link.  The other two open a new window which you can close after voting for my site, so it should only take seconds.  Thx.  I have some great news: I finally got my scanner working.  I had been using my mother's, which is a lower quality scanner that also requires me to use disks to move it from one computer to another.  This will help insure that we stay on schedule and will make the picture quality better.  I forgot to mention this in my post, but Dragon Tails linked to me last week, making them the first site that I know has linked to me, though I don't believe any other sites have.  I just want to say thx to Tim Dawson.  This is current story line is almost three weeks long, and it's our first true storyline.  The introduction was not a "real" storyline, just the beginning of the comic.  I hope you enjoy it, because it only gets better.  Later.

Aaron Thursday, August 8 1:00a.m. MST

Hello everyone, I hope you've had as good as a weekend as I end.  I went down to Tucson and we visited Kartchner Caverns.  I thought it was amazing what formations have occurred in those caverns.  If anyone visits Arizona, they should definitely try to make it down to the caverns.  This is our 10 comic! YAYY!  10 is a nice even number, meaning reaching it is a big deal.  Though an even bigger deal is that the forums are finally up.  Yayy for Keenspace.  I'll be checking those forums everyday so come over and chat up.  Jeff and I will be doing a get together where you can ask us any questions you wish.  We don't have a date decided upon, but we'll make announcements about it.  Most of the questions will be moved over to the FAQ page, at which point the site will finally be complete.  Finally, I recently found an old Ren and Stimpy Choose Your Own Adventure Comic, and I am loving it all over again.  Ren and Stimpy was always one of my favorite shows, and I loved the comic, it was actually the first comic that I subscribed to.  I always remembered the Choose Your Own Adventure as one of my favorite comics, but I had assumed it was destroyed.  I still consider this one of the funniest comic books I've ever read, which truly shows how timeless Ren and Stimpy was at its best.  Audios.

Aaron Thursday, August 4 1:00a.m. MST

This is going to be a quick post because I'm about to leave for Tucson.  I won't be doing a post on Tuesday, because I won't be here, but a comic will still update.  I just saw Signs on Saturday and it was terrific.  What was so great was it felt like how people would truly react if aliens were invading.  I would say this was even better then Sixth Sense, the other movie by this guy.  I will once again plead for response to the comic, though there's a good chance I won't have access to a computer while I'm gone, so I'll reply to all mail Tuesday night.  Later.

Aaron Thursday, August 1 10:10p.m. MST

If you look over to the left, you'll notice that two pages and a new button were added, meaning the site is almost complete.  Currently the Cool Stuff page only has one link button, but more will be added in the coming week.  There is also be a section with sketches by Jeff, though it's currently empty.  Expect some sketches in that section sometime this weekend.  The Support page currently only has a donate button using paypal, which is also the additional button, along with a place to keep track of how much money has been donated.  There is section for merchandise, but nothing has been added yet.  We currently have plans for t-shirts and are looking into posters and mouse pads.  Our Links page has also been updated with a link to Dragon Tails.  This is a hilarious comic, and I haven't even gotten through the first of three years worth of archives.  Check it out along with all the other comics on that list.  I finally got the archive problem fix, and the extra comic that shouldn't of been there is now gone.  And with that, I'm out.

Aaron Thursday, August 1 1:00a.m. MST

Hellllllllllloooooooo pot there in net land.  I've decided on how I'm going to do old news.  I'm only going to leave up five posts at a time, all the back posts are going to be stored on the old news page, which can be found at the bottom of posts.  This comic marks the official end of the introduction storyline.  Hopefully you have enjoyed it, because now we're going to have some slightly random strips.  This is also the end of the first full week of the comic, albeit on a messed up schedule.  Next week should be on the regular schedule and every week from then on. Later.

If you look at the calendar, you'll notice that it says the comic updated Monday, that's because I accidentally misdated the comic.  But it doesn't matter, because the week will still end with three comics having been updated.  I have put up the about page, but there are no bios yet, because we haven't decided on how to do the bios.  The two essays are up, one is on how we became gamers, and the other is the history of our comics.  They're both very interesting and you should take a look.  Keenspace still hasn't set up the forum, but it will be up at some point.  The only Discworld book that I haven't read yet was finally reprinted in America.  Witches Abroad is part of the Discworld series, which is my favorite fantasy series.  It's a fantasy series that is not only very good, but is laugh out loud funny.  I suggest trying it if you haven't already.  Now I must go back enjoying my summer  by lounging around.  See you guys tomorrow.

Aaron Monday, July 29 11:30p.m. MST

Sorry for the no comic, but I'm making it up with an extra comic on Wednesday.  That means three days in a row there will be comics.  Also, I've put in a request for forum on Keenspace and as soon as they put it up, I'll link from here.  I almost have the about page done.  I have two essays, all I need are bio pages for Jeff and I.  You may be wondering what could these essays have to do with the comic?  Check Tuesday night and it will be up for you to see.  I also almost have the cool stuff page up.  Initially it will only have buttons to link us to, but I have plans for more.  that means i only have two pages left: Support and FAQ.  The support will have t-shirts with original designs(as in not from the comic) and a paypal button.  I'm not sure what to put up on the FAQ page, so if you have any good questions, send them and I'll put them up.  I just got Warcraft3 and I'm almost done with the human campaign.  The game is so beautiful, it has the most incredible engine ever.  For the first time, the world and units feel alive, not just little dudes walking around.  The only problem is it doesn't even have a lot of the gameplay advancements made in Age of Empires2, but it's still a kick ass game and a worthy successor to Blizzard RTS's.  Later.

Aaron Friday, July 26 11:50a.m. MST

Helllooooo to our few readers.  I'm baack.  Camp was awesome, I didn't have a camera, but my friend had his digital camera and he took over 150 pictures.  He's going to put them on a site, Ill link to it when he puts it up.  On comic news, we are almost finished fixing the scanner.  I currently have solution and my brother and I have a lot of backup comics, so next week we are going to start the regular three comics a week update schedule.  Those days will be Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  I have also updated the character page with a new character who will be appearing very soon.  I'm going to learn how to set up the forums with Keenspace, hopefully I'll have those up by next week.  I'm now going to beg for you guys to send me e-mail with comments about the comic.  I really want to start getting to know those who read my comic.  I know you exist, I've checked the web logs. Ha-Ha, you thought you could hide, but I'm too good for that.  Just click on my name or my brother's, and our e-mail addresses will come up.  Later.

Aaron Wednesday, June 26. 12:30p.m. MST

At the time of this writing, it is only a few hours before I leave to camp for a month.  What I have always found strange about camp is that when I come back it feels like no time has passed.  There is camp time and then there is home time.  Camp feels like it will never end and from year to year it feels continuous with no pauses.  When I get back home, it does not feel like a month has passed, but that I merely was asleep for a night (except for when I have to catch up on all the online comics I read).  This is a happy time, because I'm going to camp, but a sad one because it is my last year. Oh well.

On a lighter note, since I am going to be gone, send all your questions and comments to my brother.  I have some bad news though.  My scanner broke down so I was not able to finish as many comics as I wanted to.  Because of this, the comic will be updating once a week on Sunday's, starting this Sunday.  Jeff will be writing the updates and I'll send him something to write while I am at camp.

Aaron Monday, June 17. 3:55p.m. MST

I have added character pictures to the cast page.  They're very neat looking, so you should definitely check it out.  I have decided that we'll be starting the comic at the end of this week, but we are going to be doing it twice a week for the first month.  The reason is that I am going to a summer camp for a month and won't have access to any computers during that time.  My brother, Jeff, will periodically update during that month.  Make sure to send your questions to his e-mail starting June 25.  Don't forget to watch the U.S.-Germany game at 4:35 a.m. MST this Friday.  The first four U.S. games have been very exciting,  and this next one will probably be exciting to.  Later.

Aaron posted after the other post

I have now added the cast and story pages to the website.  Fell free to check them out.  The comic is coming   along well and will hopefully be up soon.  if anyone is already looking at what I have up then PLZ feel free to e-mail me with comments or questions so that I can make a faq page.  Thx for the patience!

Aaron posted before the other post

Hello and welcome to the *official* beginning of (drumroll please) Empty Space!  This a combined effort of two brothers, Aaron(myself) and Jeff.  I am a writer while Jeff is a  writer/artist.  The comic shown here is a sneak peek at what is to come.  Hopefully the comic will be fully up within a week or two.  Until the character, story, and faq pages are up, here is a brief description of what is going on. This is a sci-fi comic that starts with a dude named Sisyphus who is abducted by two aliens, a purple octopus like alien named Gobi and rhino-like man named Commador Taurus(though he's really a captain).  This all being done for an experiment by a female extraterrestrial named Julie, who is trying to prove that humans should be brought up from their current ranking of animal.  We hope you enjoy what you see and will come back for more when the  comic starts up for real.  See you then!
